“During the scourge of Covid-19, we were faced with my issues like unemployment and violence.
“I initiated the Men in Black Doeks programme to raise awareness about GBV.
“It led to the development of Sizo GBV, which allows women to use location data to help them find the nearest support services while giving advice on what constitutes abuse and how to escape from an abusive relationship or help someone you know leave such a relationship.
“With this, I also aim to create employment among the youth and fight poverty within our community.
“It was awesome to be nominated alongside great developers. Winning would’ve been a major milestone in my life. I have since seen the app grow and mature into something I’m proud of.”
