Sport has been largely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and after the government announced the level one lockdown, quite a number of sporting events still had to be cancelled in the latter part of the year.
Luckily, there were quite a few highlights in the beginning of the year, which included the Vodacom Super Hero rugby competition between four rugby franchises, canoe, the Dusi marathon, boxing, and cricket to name but a few.
We are looking back at sporting highlights in the various sporting codes throughout the year with a few action photos that emphasised a collection of our best sport photographs of 2020.

The first sport to take place in South Africa was golf through the Sunshine Tour and was also successfully presented after lockdowm eased to level one. Rory McIlroy MBE participated in the 2019 SA Open, hosted at Glendower Golf Club. He is from northern Ireland and a member of both the European and PGA Tours.
