Local social media influencer makes waves online

Meet Themba_iv_flexinator a local Influencer, who aims to inspire the youth.

Themba Mbisi (23) encourages the youth not just to buy and invest in a product or service, but to engage differently with the world.

The Birch Acres resident understands his niche and knows how to get the youth to pay attention.
Mbisi, known as Themba_iv_flexinator, has achieved recognition because of the valuable information and insight he shares with his followers.

“My phone is my greatest asset. I started my journey on Facebook. I didn’t know anything about influencers. I didn’t even know the word existed. Little did I know that I’ll be successful.

“I remember having a conversation with my friends about social media, talking about Instagram to be precise.
“I pushed it for months and I was consistent. I noticed my account grew in numbers. I moved from 300 followers to roughly 5 000, and that was huge.

“Celebrities reposted my content and that made it easier for their fans to follow me because of the related content I post about them. That’s how I’ve achieved my recognition as an influencer.

“The type of content I produce are skits, travel posts and brand advertisement. I’m an actor by profession. I also create content relating to my profession to grow my passion. My ideas come in many ways.

“I could be listening to music or walking the streets and an idea will pop into my mind. I make sure I create my content or write down some ideas right away.

“I have worked with Corona Amapiano Sunset, which was my first campaign. It motivated me to keep pushing and eventually I worked with other big brands, including McDonalds.

“Being very active online is key. Post regularly and use relevant hashtags,” said Mbisi.
