Generosity and kindness at gift hand-out at Mugg and Bean

Children and the elderly were the focus at the joyous event.

Generosity and kindness were witnessed at the Christmas gift hand-out at Mugg and Bean at Woodbridge Square in December.

Children and the elderly were the focus of the joyous event. Santa and his helpers arrived in style in a classic red car; this modernised arrival of Santa was well appreciated by those present who applauded and cheered in excitement as Santa arrived with his bag of gifts.

Happiness filled the faces of the beneficiaries who would get up and fetch their gifts with their names on it from Santa.

The spirit of gratitude was also felt at the event; Anne MacIntosh and Vee Maharaj were among those who penned their ‘thank you’. In a letter written to Express, they said; “We Kemptonians are so blessed and spoiled by Maria Kyriacou of the Woodbridge Mugg and Bean. I wonder if anyone was aware of the three wishes for Christmas she gave to 300 children and 250 pensioners from various old age homes and settlement homes.

“I have not seen any mention thanking her for all the hard work and time she put into these projects. I would also like to thank her sponsors and the many members of the public who took a wish from the Christmas Tree at Mugg and Bean and provided for a gift.

“Thank you all, your generosity and kindness has made me proud to know Maria and be a Kemptonian. Maria, you are indeed an angel to those who had their wishes granted and had a super Christmas lunch with your gifts from Santa. Thank you once again.”

It was a joyous celebration filled with love and the spirit of giving.
Citizens from various old age homes were also blessed with gifts from Santa.
