Private investigator gunned down on Elgin Road

The man was transported to hospital in a critical condition.

A private investigating officer (45) was shot on Sunday afternoon at about 12 noon when exiting a shopping centre on Elgin Road.

According to acting spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, Sgt Barbara Ferreira, the man was transported to hospital in a critical condition.

“He was shot multiple times in the upper body.”

This came after a black Ford Fiesta stopped at the centre’s entrance near the victim’s vehicle.

“He was about to proceed on Elgin Road in Van Riebeeck Park.

“There were three suspects in the vehicle.  One armed suspect got out and opened fire on the victim,” Ferreira said.

This is an ongoing investigation.
