While Bishop Rev Sondlile Nkwanyana laid hands on Kathy Hartley as the new president, Hartley's executive was invited to bless her for her new role in the Highveld and eSwatini Synod Women's Auxiliary.
What marked this special occasion was the handover of the baton leadership from outgoing president Sandra Human to newly appointed and incoming president Kathy Hartley.
This close-knit congregation led the official ceremonial occasion from Saturday to Sunday in a moving programme that ranged from calls and worship to scriptures, prayers and sharing of communion.
The commissioning service was delivered by Bishop Rev Sondlile Nkwanyana. The lay leader, Dr Zolela Nqwcabe, was also present during the occasion to witness the handover. Kathy Hartley’s executive consists of Sheila Railson, Meryl Kennelly, Marlene Steyn, Cheryl Govender and Gwyn Webster.
