Gun-wielding woman (32) arrested following drunken misconduct

In the video, the woman was wielding a firearm in the midst of an altercation with the victim.

Norkem Park SAPS officials arrested a 32-year-old woman on Wednesday on a charge of pointing a firearm at a driver in Valk Street.

This follows an encounter on March 22 just before midnight in which a driver seated in a white Isuzu on Valk Street was dropping off his cousin in Birch Acres. The entire incident was filmed by the victim who was harassed by the woman in question.

In the video, the woman was wielding a firearm in the midst of an altercation with the victim. According to Sgt Barbara Ferreira, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, “a Volvo parked next to the Izuzu and a female got out of her vehicle and asked the driver why he was parked next to the road. The Isuzu occupant informed the female that it was his house.”

Ferreira stated the woman went to her car and then produced a firearm, which she pointed at the victim who was seated in his vehicle. The video footage further portrays an array of vulgarity and harassment on the woman’s part, followed by an action in which she reached into the victim’s vehicle. The suspect grabbed the Isuzu driver’s car keys out of the ignition and threw it out of sight.

“The victim approached Norkem Park SAPS and opened a case of pointing a firearm. It was alleged by the complainant that the female suspect was under the influence of alcohol. “The woman’s firearm was confiscated and booked into the exhibits register at Norkem Park SAPS. The suspect will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on March 25.”

Ferreira also concluded that more charges related to this incident is to follow.
