Congregants robbed at gunpoint in church
The stolen vehicles were found at Emangweni and Illiliba Section.

Congregants of a church in Esselen Park Extension One were left in fear after six men, armed with firearms, stormed into the place of worship and robbed them on March 20 at about 5.30pm.
According to communications officer of Rabasotho SAPS Capt Ralidzhivha Manyaza, the congregants were about to close the service when six unknown men entered the church, brandishing firearms.

“It was alleged by a 47-year-old woman that one of the suspects searched her and took cash and a cellphone, two bank cards and a smart card identity document. “The suspects fled the scene in two vehicles that belong to the congregants. The two vehicles were later found abandoned in Emangweni and Illiliba sections.
“Thembisa police are appealing to the members of the community who may have seen the suspects to come forward with information,” said Manyaza.
