Man’s body found hanging from a tree at Avion Park
Police confirm that an inquest docket has been opened to establish the cause of death.
The body of a man (51) was discovered on Thursday morning by a jogger next to the open field at Avion Park. The Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, confirmed that the body was discovered by a woman at 6.20am on April 1.

On scene, the body was seen in a seated position on the ground while hanging from a tree with the noose tied around the neck. The rope was stretched at full tension. Mtshali stated: “Kempton Park detectives have opened an inquest docket to establish the circumstances under which the deceased was found. A post mortem will be conducted to establish the cause of death to determine whether there is any foul play involved in this case.”
The government mortuary services attended the scene in Highveld Road to transport the body.
