BFS report: Four suspects arrested for multiple offences

Weekend investigations led to the arrests of four suspects involved in crimes related to possession of illegal substances, possession of unlicensed firearms, armed and common robberies.

Over the weekend of April 9 to 11, Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) members arrested four suspects in Kempton Park and Thembisa, in addition to recovering unlicensed firearms, drugs, and stolen vehicles.

“Information led to the arrest of two alleged drug dealers in Thembisa. The first was in Umthambeka Section where 32 packets of dagga were allegedly found in a drawer located in the suspect’s room,” confirmed WO Grant Giblin, spokesperson for BFS.

The second was in Umnonjaneni section in which loose dagga was found in a room. Dagga in excess of 600g was confiscated in both incidents.

“Further information led members to a residence in Teanong Section in Thembisa. There, a wanted suspect was arrested for an armed robbery while a white Toyota Etios was seized for being used in the commission of an offence.”

Giblin added that BFS members followed up on information leading to the arrest of one suspect in Lewis Street, Birchleigh North.
