Suspects nabbed with hijacked vehicles

Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested two suspects for hijacking on April 29. According to BFS communications officer WO Grant Giblin, the team received a tip-off on a hijacked vehicle that led them to Manana Street, Umthambeka Section in Thembisa.
“Upon arrival, two suspects were found stripping a white Toyota Quantum,” Giblin said. The vehicle was allegedly tested and reported as hijacked on a case in Boitekong North West Province in March.

“As the squad was searching the premise, they recovered another white Quantum hijacked in the same area and a white Volkswagen Transporter that was reported hijacked in July at Brackendowns.”
Two suspects were arrested and the vehicles were impounded. The 23-year-old suspects will appear in the Thembisa Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of hijacked motor vehicles.
