BOMB THREAT: avoid Woodbridge Square

Civilians are advised to avoid the Woodbridge Square on Monument Road in Glen Marais following a bomb scare.

Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, confirmed a bomb threat has been received.

Civilians are advised to avoid the area.

Mtshali said people are being evacuated as SAPS officials on the scene await the arrival of the bomb disposal unit.

He said the SAPS K9 Unit is on the scene and is awaiting instructions to proceed into the building. 

“The bomb squad has been notified and this unit will proceed into the building if there is a viable threat.”

Multiple security services are attending to the scene.
