Residents of Bonaero Park Extension Three took it upon themselves to help create a safe neighbourhood.
The residents worked together with the Bon Closure committee to initiate a clean-up that took place from April 17 to May 15.
The clean-up was to increase visibility along the river where vagrants were residing as well as clear the bushes and trees.
Fidelity ADT also joined the movement by offering patrol services for the members who were part of the clean-up.

Community development manager of Fidelity ADT Renee Coltham said that the clean-up was organised to cut down all alien trees in the veld to prevent criminals from hiding in the area.
“The clean-up was a great initiative. We also received help from volunteers who were picking up litter and rubbish that had been left behind,” Coltham said.
The cleaned area has undergone a major transformation since members gathered to work together.
The Bon Closure committee is hoping that the outcome of the initiative will help instil a sense of safety for the residents since the area was a developing hotspot for crimes, such as common theft and burglaries.
