The campaign aims to target adults who are unwilling to obtain a vaccine, such as minority racial and ethnic groups and persons living in remote areas.

“Government thanks all healthcare workers for their services during the pandemic and for leading the way in the vaccine roll-out.

“By getting vaccinated, you are protecting yourself and those around you. The vaccination is our most powerful weapon in the fight against the pandemic. I urge everyone eligible to acquire the first shot available to save lives. Everyone has a role to play in the fight against this pandemic, it is our common enemy, which requires all hands on deck,” said Nxesi.

“The vaccine doesn’t replace wearing a mask, washing hands or sanitising, keeping social distance and avoiding crowded areas. You must continue to observe non-pharmaceutical Covid-19 protocols.

“We also urge young people with smartphones, tablets and computers to assist their elderly family members to register for the vaccine.”

You can register via SMS by dialling *134*832* and ID number. If you don’t have an ID number, just dial *134*832#.

Registration can also be done through the Covid-19 WhatsApp number by sending “REGISTER” to 0600 123 456.
