Lucky wants your vote for the best radio presenter at #MAMA2021

“My listeners give me ears to listen attentively to the things that matter most to them, which humbles me.”

As someone with a passion for talking, Isando resident Lucky “Lacoster” Hlongo was nominated to compete for the best radio presenter title at the Mzansi Art Media Awards (MAMA) 2021.

In his fledgling career of the past five months, Lucky told Express: “I love to be a presenter because it’s where I know how to engage with the youth. What I love about being a radio presenter is that it’s the way we bring the content and give people what they want to hear.”

For him, it’s the mecca of mediums in which he can bring content that speaks to the importance of life in youth development.

“My listeners give me ears to listen attentively to the things that matter most to them, which humbles me.”

Lucky co-hosts the Evening Drive on East Rand Live FM, where they discuss what’s happening in the community.

“My role model and radio presenter is DJ Sbu. I think it’s the best to me every time he uplifts the youth, and it’s what I am all about.”

Why is he so zealous about the youth in his community?

“I care about the youth because we are the future of tomorrow. I believe God called me to serve my generation to stray clear from wrong, harmful and degenerative paths.”

He explained that the MAMAs is a platform created to expose up-and-coming talent which inspires the youth to believe in their dreams.

“It gives them something to uplift our passion and spirit for doing what we love most. Fellow community, please vote for me as a best presenter. Your vote can change someone’s life as I am the best presenter. I am delivering what people need to hear.”
