Fire at Erwat Olifantsfontein extinguished

The plant will continue to work uninterrupted.

On July 9, DEMS responded to a fire at the Erwat Olifantsfontein Waste Water Treatment Plant, which they contained and extinguished.

The plant consists of three modules that can collectively treat 65 megalitres of water a day.

The raw sewage is received from Thembisa, Chloorkop, Ivory Park, Clayville, Olifantsfontein and Midstream Estate.

The plant will continue to work uninterrupted and the refurbishments of the bio-filter tank will continue once the investigations have been completed.
