Drunk drivers a concern for SAPS

Over the last few weeks, there has been an increase in the number of motorists driving under the influence of alcohol despite level four regulations.

Norkem Park SAPS station commander Col JM Tua reminded people about regulations to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

On July 18, officers arrested 12 drivers who were released on bail in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.

There were also arrests for possession of stolen property that was allegedly looted from malls in Rabie Ridge and Thembisa.

On July 17, a case of culpable homicide was opened after a minibus drove into a barrier on Munii Street, Birch Acres, which claimed the lives of four people.
