Social development is next for the jab
Ministers Zulu and Kubayi visit vaccination sites in Thembisa.

Minister of Social Development Lindiwe Zulu and acting Minister of Health Mmamoloko Kubayi visited vaccination sites in Thembisa and Thokoza on July 19.
The visits came as the social development sector kicked off its vaccination roll-out plan.
The Department of Social Development aimed to vaccinate 240 000 people.
MMC for Human Settlements Clr Lesiba Mpya was one of the officials who visited the hall.

Zulu said the vaccination roll-out plan included frontline workers in Early Childhood Development (ECD) workforce.
“The department has been working with the ECD Inter-Sectoral Forum to ensure that no person is left behind, given that ECDs remained open while schools were closed and practitioners were at risk,” said Zulu.
Kubayi added that all social service professionals have been included in this roll-out plan.
The Thembisa Healthcare Centre (Rabasotho Hall) continues to be a vaccination centre under the care supervision of Fulu Thelma Nekhumbe, senior manager (primary healthcare) in the northern region.
Nekhumbe said the hall was activated on June 23 when they started with the vaccination of educators.
“The vaccinations continue after we have completed the educators’ programme, as we have launched the social development roll-out plan,” she said.
