Community tip-off leads to arrest

Inside the Ranger, police discovered two-way radios.

Members of Johannesburg K9 Unit and EMPD patrolled Pongola River Street in Birch Acres on August 11.
Sgt Barbara Ferreria, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, told Express the officers were approached by a concerned community member alerting them about a suspicious-looking vehicle in the area.
The officer investigated and found a silver Ford Focus that was hijacked in Silverton, Pretoria.
On further investigation, the police also located a Ford Ranger that had been fitted with blue lights and a siren.
Inside the Ranger, police discovered two-way radios.
The vehicles were impounded and a man was arrested and detained at Norkem Park SAPS.
The suspect will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate court.
