
Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) personnel apprehended seven offenders and seized two motor vehicles between October 28 and 29.
Members backed up a security company on the crossroads of High Road and Pomona in Kempton Park at approximately 20:00 on Thursday.
WO Grant Giblin, communications officer at BFS, said three individuals were detained after they were found in possession of wires allegedly stolen from a Rynfield hardware store.

“At Lowton Street in Actonville and North Rand Road in Kempton Park, members apprehended two people for narcotics possession. Nyaope (heroine), crystal methamphetamine and Cat (cocaine) were seized,” said Giblin.
Two people were detained on Kempton Road for deliberate damage to property and West Street for assault in separate instances.
A silver Volkswagen Polo was found abandoned in Makhulong Section, Tembisa, reported hijacked on a Thembisa case, while a white Nissan NP200 was found abandoned in Esselen Park, Thembisa, reported stolen on a Midrand case.
Giblin said the suspects will face charges of drug possession, assault with intent to inflict serious bodily injury, possession of stolen items and intentional damage to property before the local magistrate’s courts.
