Kgomotso Moeketsi, the organisation’s founder from Ebony Park Extension One, began an aerobics programme for young and old women in her community to help herself and others keep healthy.

Moeketsi founded the organisation in October 2021 after seeing that many women were experiencing problems at home, including a lack of finances, diseases and job losses.

“It is more crucial than ever before for women to maintain an active lifestyle through a nutritious diet, a positive outlook and regular exercise as they grow older,” said Moeketsi.

Bophelo women are setting the health bar high for themselves.

“An active lifestyle can increase energy, decrease weight and pain, help in maintaining independence, improve mental health and strengthen the heart, lungs and muscles. Active people are also less likely to develop heart disease, diabetes and depression.”

The group meets Mondays to Fridays from 17:00 to 18:15.
