Koopman claims IBF title

Koopman, the SA junior middleweight champion, won the match in the fifth round after the referee called a halt to the fight after 1:42.

Primrose’ Shervantaigh Koopman claimed victory at Emperors Palace when he beat Jami Webb in the fifth round of their 12-round IBF Continental African Junior Middleweight title fight.

Koopman and Webb went toe to toe on March 26 at the undercard fight of the “Heavyweight Mania” Box and Dine Tournament at Emperors Palace.

Koopman, the SA junior middleweight champion, won the match in the fifth round after the referee called a halt to the fight after 1:42.

Following Koopman’s success, the Palace of Dreams’ Scott Maclellan congratulated Koopman on his victory, which came with a technical knockout.

Koopmans boxing record now stands at 10-0-0.
