Drug dealer found in possession of unlicensed firearm

Officers from Rabie Ridge SAPS Crime Prevention Unit received information that led them to a suspect on March 15 involved in drug trafficking.

According to Rabie Ridge SAPS communications officer Sgt Dipolelo Moremi, the information led them to Kanana.

“They went to the suspect’s residence, handed him a search warrant and requested permission to search his room, which he granted.

“They discovered drugs and cash. They continued their search and discovered a hole in the mattress, where they found live ammunition. Further searches resulted in the discovery of a revolver.

“He was detained for possession of a handgun, live ammunition and selling of drugs,” said Moremi.
