Rabie Ridge police recovered several stolen items in an open field in Mayibuye on March 29.
It is believed that the items were abandoned after a business robbery that took place the previous day.
Officers recovered irons, doors and a window frame.
According to the Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi, the victim attempted to investigate a noise at the premises. He found himself surrounded by approximately 10 suspects.
“One pointed a firearm at him and told him to be silent. The suspects searched their victim and stole his cash and mobile phone. The victim was tied up with his shoelaces.
“Later, three vehicles arrived through the main gate of the property that was forced open by the suspects. The suspects' loaded window frames, wooden doors and wheelbarrows into the vehicles before fleeing.”
No arrests have been made.
