She was acknowledged with the 2022 Forbes Woman Africa Young Achievers Award.
The 24-year-old was applauded for her dream to reach transformative change in increasing the capacity of women to bounce back into purpose by offering skills, personal development, ending poverty and promoting the rights of girls and women.
“She Is Brave was founded to create a platform for young girls and women to have the ability to bounce back from challenges and things they have no control over, to belong, to become the best version of themselves through skills empowerment, mentorship and advocating for sustainable solutions that benefit a female because they are often victimised,” said Nomnqa.
She was awarded the award at the Forbes Woman Africa Awards held virtually on March 9 alongside other pioneers on the African stage.
Nomnqa said she was humbled to be recognised for her work and to share a stage with one of her role models.

“What an honour it is to have the 2022 Forbes Woman Africa Young Achievers Award and She Is Brave recognised.
I value being acknowledged and celebrated amongst my role model, Dr Phumzile Gcuka, former UN Women executive director, and other phenomenal world changers in Africa,” said Nomnqa.
The young change maker said she was, through her initiatives, looking forward to greater change and sustainable solutions to many issues that women face in various parts of the continent.
She not only hopes for change but also greater participation and support from other stakeholders and the communities at large.
“Our end goal is to have sustainable solutions that will lower the socio-economic issues in Africa – not only South Africa. We hope to see the footprint of She Is Brave in every country with sustainable solutions,” she said.
