“The book was inspired by everyday situations. It is a romance about youth and the obstacles they confront on a daily basis, the decisions they make and the people they choose to love. Young adult relationships have traditionally been characterised by their intensity and, at times, storminess.
“Throughout the process of writing this book, I realised that whatever I wrote about the characters, I ended up finding myself in each and every character I created. Almost as if I was living in them.
