Boy (16) apprehended after robbery
The suspect robbed a woman of her handbag at gunpoint.

A 31-year-old woman of Rabie Ridge was walking to work on April 6 at around 06:00 when she was robbed at gunpoint of her handbag by a 16-year-old suspect on Falcon Street.

According to Sgt Dipolelo Moremi of the Rabie Ridge Police Station, the suspect was apprehended by members of the community and taken to Rabie Ridge SAPS.
“The victim had already arrived at the police station to file a report, and she was able to identify him. The victim’s belongings and two firearms were discovered in his possession during a search. The items were turned over to the police,” said Moremi.
“As the suspect is a minor, he will be prosecuted under the Child Justice Act.”
Col Johanna Ngoma, station commander of Rabie Ridge SAPS, praised the community for their assistance in apprehending the suspect.
