Cable theft causes delays to restoration of power – CoE

Prelimininary investigation revealed that the cable theft and attempted cable theft during periods of loadsheding are the main causes.

City of Ekurhuleni technitians are on site working to restore power to parts of Bonaero Park, Kempton Park.

“Technicians discovered multiple faults on the network supplying the area, which has delayed restoration time,” said City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

“The prelimininary investigation revealed that the cable theft and attempted cable theft during periods of loadsheding are the main causes of the reported faults on the network across the city.”

Residents are urged to report interference with the city’s infrastructure to CoE Call Centre on 0860543 000 or on My CoE App.

At 18h00 CoE stated the estimated restoration time for Bonaero Park is 22h00 on April 21.
