Motshekga attends school safety meeting in Ivory Park
The minister's intervention comes after school safety issues were raised by the police.
The Ivory Park SAPS Social Crime Prevention Team attended a meeting on school safety on June 15 with parents and the Department of Education.

“The meeting was held at Eqinisweni Secondary School and was attended by Angie Motshekga, the Minister of Basic Education,” said Captain Ben Matimulane.
Matimulane said the SAPS mandate is to intensify school searches and talks with learners about bullying and other forms of ill behaviour in schools.
He said the Ivory Park SAPS has been paying attention to these issues.

“The good relationship between the police and schools ensures that problem learners are identified and action is taken,” said Matimulane.
