Residents at the welfare, which houses about 49 women and children, were delighted to receive the donation.

The welfare was introduced to H.O.M.E through Kerry Ann from #COMEIN.

“I have been following the founder, Sara May, on her personal account which was when I saw her H.O.M.E group also on Facebook. I managed to get hold of her and told her about Tshegofatsa Rona,” said Kerry Ann.

“She then put out a request on a WhatsApp group for donations of sanitary pads which lead to the donation on June 16.

“This is beautiful and will help the women and children who are truly in need of this and more.”

Founder of Tshegofatsa Rona, Cynthia Dinalane, was very pleased with the donation and said it will go a long way.

“We are overwhelmed and truly relieved. I even found myself asking where they have been all along as this is among some of the things we really need.

They have helped our women and children here at the house, but it goes deeper than that.

“This will not only benefit us in the house but it will also benefit the community.

“I am in contact with a family in Thembisa that has four girls who use newspapers when they are on their menstrual cycle.

“We truly are grateful and humbled by the donation. We say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
