Update from CoE: Kempton power to be restored from 22:00 in phases

This update follows earlier reports by Kempton Express about the media and residents' calls for clarity on the power outage.

City of Ekurhuleni tonight announced that restoration of power in Kempton Park will start from 22:00 after a substation, supplying the area tripped after load shedding on June 26.

“The restoration was delayed during the day after further damage was identified on the 66kv infrastructure during testing.

“Customers are requested to switch off all non-essential appliances to assist in stabilising the system and a faster restoration to all customers,” said CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
