Thembisa three-day commemoration of ’76 Youth

The campaign was a three-day conference that aimed to connect the youth from all walks of life.

A three-day Empowering Youth Conference took place at Royal House International Church Ntshonalanga Section in Thembisa to commemorate the Soweto uprising of 1976.

“We are inspired by their actions, and we believe that they deserve to be celebrated not only on June 16 but for a lifetime, they have demonstrated leadership and fearlessness in the hardest times in South Africa.

“Therefore, they remain heroes and they are worthy of commemoration,” Phumzile Mthembu, a partner at Developing SA, said.

The campaign was a three-day conference that aimed to connect the youth from all walks of life.

“Day two was to inspire or link the youth to available opportunities and day three was to grow the youth by challenging them to move out of their comfort zones,” said Mthembu.

Mthembu said that the conference was attended by local business owners, entrepreneurs, corporate companies, coaches and leaders.
