WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGE: Man killed by a bus in Glen Marais

The bus driver is alleged to have proceeded and did not stop after the alleged incident.

A culpable homicide case is being investigated by the Kempton Park SAPS since a man was killed after he was allegedly hit by a bus on Friday morning.

The man is estimated to be in his 30s.

Sec Pros Security’s members were among those first on scene at the corner of Monument and Braambos roads in Glen Marais.

“Our control room saw the incident on our CCTV and called for backup from the medical and security team,” said Wian Vrey, Sec Pros’ ILS medic.

“Calls from neighbouring businesses also started coming in and the reaction team responded.

“We were the first medics to arrive on scene and after assessment, the man was declared deceased by medics.

“The man didn’t have any identification and was not wearing shoes.”

A man, estimated to be in his 30s, was declared dead after he was allegedly hit by a bus on corner of Monument and Braambos roads on Friday morning.

Vrey added that they handed over the case to EMPD members who also arrived on scene.

“The docket was handed over to the police,” said Captain Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

“The man reportedly sustained multiple injuries.

It is alleged the bus did not stop after the man had been hit. The deceased was wearing a fawn jersey and blue jeans,” said Mtshali.

“We appeal to anyone with information on the identity of the man to contact Detective Sergeant Tryphina Lamola on 011 393 8818.”
