“The purpose of the event was to encourage mothers in the SAPS to be strong and not to give up,” said Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego.
She added that chaplain Ntshavheni opened the event with a prayer and encouraged women to be strong in every situation they faced.
“We received words of encouragement from Brigadier Onica Thloaele, who spoke on what she went through on her journey and the challenges she faced,” she said.

Ditshego said having such events was important because they allowed officers to meet and talk about the challenges they face at work.
Brigadier Thloaele from the SAPS provincial office advised women to believe in themselves.
“Be your own hero, be strong and courageous, do not fear or be in dread of them for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. A leader is a leader in action, not position,” said Thloaele.
