Elgin Road to be closed on June 21

Work scheduled includes the excavation of the road to inspect, test and repair medium voltage cables feeding Norkem Park and parts of Birchleigh.

Residents and motorists are advised that Elgin Road will be closed tomorrow, June 21.

The closure will facilitate work by the Kempton Park Energy Department at the traffic circle on Pretoria and Elgin roads.

It is expected that the road will be closed between 08:30 and 17:00.

Work scheduled includes the excavation of the road to inspect, test and repair medium voltage cables feeding Norkem Park and parts of Birchleigh.

At this stage, it is anticipated that the left lane on Elgin Road (between Olienhout Street and Pretoria Road) towards the traffic circle will be temporarily closed for the works.

There’s a possibility that both lanes might be closed during certain times of the work scheduled.

There is also a possibility of power interruption to Norkem Park and parts of Birchleigh during this time.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
