On June 16, the vibrant township of Thembisa saw an outpouring of youthful energy during the highly anticipated ‘Impacting youth and changing the future’ event.

Held in celebration of Youth Day, this extraordinary gathering was a testament to the resilience, creativity, and talent of the young minds shaping the future.
From dazzling presentations to inspiring talks, the event left an indelible mark on the community, amplifying the voices and aspirations of Thembisa’s youth.
According to one of the organisers, Reverend Mkhwanazi, the day proved to be much more than just a commemoration of the Soweto Uprising.

“Impacting youth and changing the future aimed to showcase the incredible diversity of talents within the local youth, tearing down walls of stereotypes and empowering them to embrace their passions.
“Impacting youth and changing the future encouraged productive dialogue and exchange of ideas. Inspirational speakers and successful professionals took to the podium, sharing their personal stories and wisdom.
“Motivating the youth to chase their dreams, they emphasised the importance of education, hard work, and fighting against adversity.
These influential figures sowed seeds of ambition and resilience, encouraging the next generation to dream big and actively shape their destinies.
