Man sentenced to life for two brutal murders and one rape

The Palm Ridge High Court found 38-year-old Sigqibo Mbungu guilty of two counts of murder and one of rape on September 4.
The court found Mbungu killed a man by cutting his head off using a garden fork and spade in 2018.
Additionally, the court also found he in 2021 raped a woman before burning her private parts using a two-plate stove and stabbing her to death.

He committed all these crimes in Phomolong.
Detective Sergeant Thulani Amose Ndlovu was assigned the case and could secure a 15-year imprisonment sentence for the murder committed in 2018.
Mbungu received a life sentence for the murder he committed in 2021 and an additional 15 years for the rape of his victim.
