One suspect bust for armed robbery in Kempton Park
The victim, a security guard, reported that he had been sleeping in one of the trucks when he was awakened by a knock on the window.
Kempton Park police officers, Tactical Unit members and ADT Security personnel swiftly responded to a business robbery at a truck stop located at 53 7th Avenue, Pomona, on October 16.
According to Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, officers arrived at the scene where the victim, a security guard, reported that he had been sleeping in one of the trucks when he was awakened by a knock on the window.

“The victim stated that two men asked if they could recharge their vehicle’s battery using his truck’s battery,” said Ditshego.
“When he opened the window, they pointed firearms at him and ordered him to unlock the truck’s doors. He complied and activated his panic button.”
ADT Security arrived promptly, causing the two suspects to flee the scene.
One suspect managed to hide inside the truck while backup was called.
Officers from the Kempton Park Sector responded, leading to the suspect’s arrest.

The suspect was found in possession of a firearm.
He was arrested and detained at Kempton Park SAPS for possession of an illegal firearm and business robbery.
The suspect is expected to appear in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon to face these charges.
