Woman (41) arrested following death of 49-year-old woman

Captain Sekgobela stated that the incident arose from a fight between the two women. Police are continuing their investigation.

A 41-year-old woman was arrested yesterday, January 7, for allegedly killing a 49-year-old woman in Ivory Park Extension 7.

According to Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the incident occurred around 06:20 on Kingdom Street.

Ivory Park police received a report of a murder and arrived at the scene to find the body of a woman lying face-up in a room.

Paramedics were called and confirmed that she was deceased.

Captain Sekgobela stated that the incident arose from a fight between the two women.

“It’s alleged that the 49-year-old deceased was fighting with the 41-year-old suspect, who then strangled her and hit her against the floor.

“As a result, she died,” Sekgobela explained.

The deceased’s body was transported to the Germiston Government Mortuary.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, and updates will be provided as the case progresses.
