Thembisa man arrested for assault and possession of an unlicensed firearm

The EMPD’s Community Liaison Unit recently arrested a man in Thembisa after a victim complained that he assaulted her.

Officers responded and found the man at a local tavern. They searched him and found a 9mm firearm and a magazine with no live rounds.

The man could not produce a valid firearm licence for the weapon, so he was arrested on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and taken to the Thembisa Police Station.
