Nine suspects arrested in drug bust, substances seized

Eight suspects were arrested for drug related matters in separate incidents, one at Esselen Street, Etwatwa West and the rest in Kaalfontein Extension 1 and 23, Ivory Park. Mandrax, nyaope (heroine) and crystal methamphetamine were recovered in these incidents.

Benoni Flying Squad members arrested nine suspects and recovered drugs between April 21 and 23.

On April 22, at around 17:55, members received information about a suspect selling dagga at a service station on Tom Jones, close to the N12.

On arrival, the 55-year-old suspect was identified and arrested when members recovered five black bags of dagga with an estimated value of around R10 000.

In further reporting, eight suspects were arrested for drug-related matters in separate incidents, one at Esselen Street, Etwatwa West and the rest in Kaalfontein Extension 1 and 23, Ivory Park.

Mandrax, nyaope (heroine) and crystal methamphetamine were recovered in these incidents.

Investigation continues in these cases.

The suspects will appear in the local magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
