Three suspects arrested for drugs and suspected stolen copper cables

The suspects will be appearing in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court facing charges of possession of drugs and possession of suspected stolen goods.

Benoni Flying Squad members arrested three suspects and recovered copper cables and drugs on July 5.
At around 14:00, members patrolling Actonville noticed a suspicious person on the corner of Pillay Street and Khan Crescent.

The 45-year-old suspect was immediately arrested when he was allegedly found in possession of a packet of crystal methamphetamine.

During further policing at around 19:00, members arrested two suspects, aged 26 and 33, for possession of suspected stolen copper cables.

Members were patrolling Kingsway when they noticed the two suspects in an open veld.

Upon investigation, they allegedly found them with the cables and a grinder capable of cutting them. The suspects were detained at Benoni SAPS and the recoveries booked in as exhibits.

Investigations continue in these cases.

The suspects will appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of possession of drugs and possession of suspected stolen goods.
