City opens nominations for Ward 15 committee elections in Kempton Park

Nominations close on 29 September, with elections set for 9 October at the Kempton Park Civic Centre.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) invites community organisations, interest groups, and sectors in Kempton Park to nominate and register candidates for the re-election of ward committee members to represent various sectors in Ward 15.

The nomination period runs from September 15 to September 29.

Nomination forms are available at CoE customer care centres, libraries, and public participation offices.

Completed forms must be submitted to the community participation and education offices on the 4th floor at the Kempton Park Civic Centre.

The election for Ward 15 committee members will take place on October 9 at 18:00 in the council chambers, Kempton Park.

Vacant sectors include women and children, youth, faith-based organisations, aged and disability, economic development and city planning, and community safety.

Eligibility requirements for nomination include:
• Must be a South African citizen
• Must be a registered voter of the ward
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have no criminal convictions
• Must be in good standing with the council regarding any service accounts, or be willing to arrange to settle outstanding amounts.
