One injured in Chloorkop explosion

The explosion occurred in an enclosed and contained area at a business in Chloorkop this morning.

One person was injured when a 48kg gas cylinder exploded at a business property in Chloorkop this morning, July 21.

The cylinder it believed to have contained ammonia.

According to DEMS spokesperson, William Ntladi, the explosion occurred in an enclosed and contained area.

“No roads were affected.”

The injured man was treated on scene before he was transported to hospital.

The area has been cleared.
