Ivory Park Police enforce discipline at local school

Taking a proactive approach to guide learners towards a brighter future, the social crime prevention team of Ivory Park SAPS recently visited a Grade 10 class with a reputation for truancy and ill-discipline at JB Matabane Secondary School.
The officers aimed to raise awareness about the inherent dangers of such behaviour and the potential long-term consequences it may have on the learners’ lives.
As truancy and ill-discipline continues to plague the particular Grade 10 class, the Ivory Park SAPS Social Crime Prevention team was determined to intervene.
During their visit, the officers engaged with the learners, delivering a stern warning about the perils associated with ill-discipline and bullying.

They emphasised the potential consequences of engaging in such behaviour, including the possibility of acquiring a criminal record that could drastically impact their future.
Abusive conduct, both towards peers and teachers, was deemed wholly unacceptable during the presentation.
The learners were urged to resist peer pressure and make choices that would positively shape their lives and avoid unnecessary entanglements with the law.
Expressing his gratitude to the police officers for their efforts, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of Ivory Park SAPS, affirmed his confidence in the efficacy of their message.
He acknowledged the insidious nature of peer pressure and how succumbing to its allure can lead seemingly law-abiding learners down a path of trouble, often discovering later that what they believed to be minor infractions can pose significant hurdles in their future endeavours.
