Locals honour granny Molly on her 100th birthday

Her favorite childhood memory was being able to communicate in sign language with her older sister, who was deaf.

Molly Frauendorf celebrated her 100th birthday on July 15 with family and friends.

Molly was born in 1923 and lived in Kempton Park.

She worked as a receptionist for a doctor in Zeerust and baked wedding cakes as a hobby.

She has two daughters and four grandchildren.

Her favorite childhood memory was being able to communicate in sign language with her older sister, who was deaf.

“The only advice I have for young people is to not marry too young, to enjoy the beautiful things in life and not let anyone bring you down, to have faith in God and to live your best life,” said Molly.
