Local flying squad officer moves up the ranks

Five officers including Captain Tjaart Klopper received new ranks from the provincial head of Police Emergency Services.

The provincial head of the Police Emergency Services, Brigadier Kubendran Govender, bestowed ranks to five new officers promoted in the Rapid Response Services environment.

The event took place at the 10111 Call Centre in Midrand where Govender, assisted by the commander of Benoni Flying Squad (BFS), Lieutenant Colonel Tali Lukhele, among others bestowed a rank on Captain Tjaart Klopper, recently promoted from warrant officer to his new rank at BFS.

Klopper has served at BFS since 2001 and has 32 years of service in the SAPS.

All attending congratulated him and explained with the rank, you get more responsibilities in the service.

Lukhele advised Klopper to continue with the high standard of service the flying squad maintains and set the example for junior members to keep the discipline they know the unit for.
