Flying squad catch three suspects, recover five vehicles and seize a firearm
On September 25, officers patrolling Benoni were stopped by a security vehicle at Bunyan Road at the corner of the N12 highway.
Benoni Flying Squad members arrested three suspects and recovered one firearm and five motor vehicles between September 18 and 25.
Three suspects were arrested for possession of drugs at Maxwell and North Rand roads, Kempton Par, and in Winnie Mandela Zone 4, Thembisa.
Nyaope, cocaine and crystal methamphetamine were confiscated in these separate incidents.

The security guard reported he had seen two suspects running into the bushes and was certain he saw them drop something.
A search followed and a 9mm Girsan pistol with two live rounds of ammunition was found lying in the grass.
The firearm was seized and handed in at Benoni SAPS for an investigation into its origins.
Five abandoned robbed motor vehicles were recovered.

A white GWM bakkie was recovered in Spartan Road, Kempton Park, reported hijacked on a Klipgat case and a white Isuzu was recovered at Mayfield Square Mall in Putfontein, reported hijacked on a Silverton case.
A white Ford Ranger was recovered on Atlas Road in Boksburg reported stolen on a Germiston case.
A white Toyota Etios was recovered at Elridge Mall in Impala Park. reported stolen on a Sinoville case and a white Volkswagen Polo on Daveyton Road, Cloverdene, reported stolen on a Tsakane case.
Investigations continue in all cases.
The suspects will be appearing in the Kempton Park and Thembisa magistrate’s courts respectively facing charges of possession of and dealing in drugs.
