Local residents clean the streets of Kempton Park
"These street criminals sell these stolen properties to the scarp yards on the same street, which contributes to crime such as theft."
Kempton SAPS corporate communications officer, joined by pastors and Kempton Park residents embarked on a clean-up campaign along Cassuarina Street recently.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, the goal was to rebuild the community’s trust in the police while establishing a stronger connection between the two parties.

“Street criminals sell these stolen properties to the scarp yards on the same street, which contributes to crime such as theft.
“A message was spread to the second-hand goods owners not to buy stolen property and to be the eyes and ears of the police to stop these crimes,” said Ditshego.
