EMPD nabs suspects for vehicle theft
Thepa stated that a charge of possession of the stolen motor vehicle was registered against the duo and they are expected to appear in the relevant magistrate's court soon.
Two male suspects were arrested by the EMPD Tactical Response Unit (TRU) for the possession of a reported stolen motor vehicle on October 27 in the Petit area.
According to EMPD spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa, the officers were on their way to report for duties when they received information about a reportedly stolen white Nissan NP200 light delivery vehicle travelling along Birch Road.
Thepa said the officers followed up on the information that was given to them.

Soon after, the LDV matching the description given, with two male occupants, was spotted at the corner of Zesfontein and Peenz roads.
“The bakkie reported stolen in the Cosmos City was tactically approached and thoroughly inspected,” said Thepa.
“The two male suspects alleged that they were requested by a friend of the friend to take the LDV from Diepsloot to Tsakane, before the pair was handcuffed and taken to the Crystal Park Police Station.”
Thepa said that a charge of possession of the stolen motor vehicle was registered against the duo and they are expected to appear, at the relevant Magistrate’s Court soon.
The recovered Nissan LDV was impounded for safekeeping.
